Haniel is currently changing the portfolio and aims to develop its companies over the long term at an above-average rate. The long-term value creation will be achieved and supported by applying a common management operating system, the Haniel Operating Way (HOW). HOW includes the development of common tools, systems and processes and aims to enable outperformance by raising the leadership behavior to a level of excellence. It is deployed by a value enhancement team of around 15 professionals focusing on talent, sustainability, and operational excellence. The team supports and complements the Haniel investment teams, which take care of the investment and value creation processes and the development of the different pillars.

The Chief People and Strategy Officer is an important member of the Top Leadership Team that is responsible for leading a portfolio with a turnover of approximately EUR 3.1bn and an operating profit of 235m in 2020. Reporting directly to the Haniel CEO s:he takes on a central and varied role in shaping the enkelfähig journey. The position offers many opportunities to explore and create new paths. Among the many topics are:

 

ROLE CONTEXT AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that leadership behavior across the group is raised to a level of excellence
  • Refine the target picture of HOW and create an implementation roadmap
  • Introduce mandatory standards by creating a toolbox involving the portfolio companies
  • Lead the execution of the HOW transformation journey across the portfolio
  • Continuously review and develop the operating system subject to the value potential of the measures
  • Monitor the ongoing progress and ensure tangible results
  • Actively interact and promote HOW with the Top Leaders in the companies
  • Lead the HOW team and ensure the best possible coordination of the different capabilities
  • Support investment teams in shaping the portfolio companies’ value creation agenda

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful track record in senior leadership roles with exposure to an agenda of transformational business growth and cultural change. Significant experience with change management/organizational development, providing strategic direction and influence over organizational changes such as restructuring and leadership changes and being able to provide impulses for changes at the highest level
  • International experience obtained within a company employing a modern operating system
  • Solid functional expertise in talent management and leadership development
  • Track record of senior management progression and proven ability to perform at the executive level as part of an executive team.
