Continuous Improvement / Lean Expert (m/w/d)
Purpose of the role
- High influence key position supporting the development and implementation of the Haniel Operating Way (HOW) in all businesses
- Working within an engaged team responsible for the delivery of process innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple businesses and functions.
- Provide formal and informal training, coaching, mentoring of people, must be able to translate HOW concepts to local situations and help individuals and teams progress in understanding and correct application for sustainable business improvements
- Playing an important role in helping to foster a culture of sustainable change through the creation and embedding Lean methodologies, enabling, and supporting business transformation
- Acting as an independent, hands-on worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously enhance and implement the HOW Lean system
- Work with key stakeholders and Lean champions within the businesses to build a continuous improvement environment
- Assist the business units in the development and implementation of a multi-year world class Lean program / value stream transformation plan and a culture to support an ongoing program of change
- Develop Lean experts within the business units to enable Lean self-sustained organizations
- Take ownership in facilitation and execution of kaizen events through all stages (from preparation until sustainment)
- Support business units to drive targeted, sustainable improvement in main KPIs
- Actively foster best practice sharing across the business units
Competencies
- Minimum 5 years of experience in improving and implementing a framework of continuous improvement in the challenging environment of a bigger organization
- Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements /into a problem-solving process
- Proven ability to apply change management to get people engaged in the required cultural change
- Ability to set up Kaizen roadmap and facilitate Kaizen Events with a range of business stakeholders (incl. experience of process mapping/value stream mapping)
- Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint but at the same time also hands-on and detail oriented
- Proven ability to collaborate in a team environment - knows when to lead and when to follow
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills in combination with strong training, coaching and mentoring experience
- Willing to travel.
